We really like Kodak's playing up its role in the history of photography in its "Keep me. Protect me. Share me. And I will live forever" campaign. We think the credit goes to Ogilvy NY.
The commercials do a great job of playing up the brand and are likely to influence activity in several areas. One, they should create awareness of just how much of an industry leader they are. From the beginning they were smart to make sure their brand was emblazoned on the back of their photo paper for decades. When reminded, we automatically give credence to the campaign and understand that, yes, they have been in the game forever. Secondly, it's certain to influence sales as the digital market means we're now buying photo paper and we want something that will help us make our memories last forever. They've established their staying power as well as that of their products. Kudos to all involved.
